CLOTHING PROGRAM
This service is possible due to the generous donations of individuals
throughout the year and at periodic special Bundle Sunday collections at various
parishes. All gently used clothing is made available to qualified individuals
and families in conjunction with our
Thrift Store.
All SVDP Conferences at local Catholic parishes have been given clothing vouchers that they may use for parishioners and other needy individuals or families within their own parish boundaries. The Conference, after a confidential visitation with the "client" has the authority to issue a voucher to be redeemed at the Thrift Store. The Conference incurs no expense for using the voucher, although a voluntary contribution to offset costs is requested. Each individual in a family (up to five household members) is allowed to select up to ten (10) items of clothing that they can use. Clients and Conferences must remember all of the items available are donated so we do not maintain a complete inventory of sizes and styles. Vouchers may be issued to households every six (6) months by Conferences to "clients" that have an ongoing need for clothing.
Vouchers are also issued by various agencies throughout the area we serve. These agencies serve specific segments of the population and cooperate with and benefit from St. Vincent de Paul’s programs to provide suitable clothing for the needy.
