"A Vincentian Prayer" Larry Lauter found this prayer distributed at the 1979 St. Vincent de Paul Society National Meeting in Green Bay, Wisconsin and was, and still is, impressed with its simplicity and its application to not only members of the Society but also to every member of the Church. O gentle, loving and compassionate Lord; joining with my fellow Vincentians at this hour of the day, as I bring to you my heart's desires: I pray for my sisters and brothers who suffer ---for whatever cause; I pray for my sisters and brothers in prison ---of whatever kind; I pray for my sisters and brothers who are lonely and afraid; Touch them, O Lord, as only you can touch; Touch them with your peace; Touch them with your gentleness; Touch them with your everlasting and healing love…and help me to touch others through my presence, my patience, my prayers, and my example. Amen
