WHAT WE DO

The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Greater Cleveland is a non-profit organization providing personal assistance with food, clothing, furniture, bedding and other support for people facing economic, emotional, or spiritual crises.

Members, volunteers and staff in communities throughout Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Summit, Lorain, Medina, Ashland and Wayne counties assisted nearly 40,000 neighbors in need in 2004. As a private, non-profit charity, the Society relies almost exclusively on individuals, businesses and other organizations for support.

Everything St. Vincent de Paul does is motivated by a sense of compassion for those struggling with poverty, illness, family problems, homelessness and other difficulties. Our Catholic faith calls us to action, sustains our commitment and challenges us to be more Christ-like. In the words of our patron, St. Vincent de Paul, every encounter allows us to "do the good that presents itself …and do it prudently and over an extended period of time".
