HOW TO HELP
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Cleveland Council, invites interested volunteers to join in our ministry of service to those suffering financial, emotional and spiritual hardships.
An Active Member of St. Vincent de Paul participates fully in the life and work of the Society. He or she participates actively in the direct person-to-person work of the local Conference, serving persons in need directly. He or she also attends meetings of the Conference, praying with the members, and confidentially reviewing the situations of those who need assistance so that help can be delivered in the best possible way. This full membership includes participation in the celebration of the Eucharist and potential growth in Vincentian spiritually. As such, it requires that the Active Member shares the Catholic faith. Associate Members include those who sincerely and publicly accept the Society’s basic principles but may or may not belong to the Catholic Church. They are kept informed of the developments and activities of their immediate group, as well as the progress of the Society, particularly in the local area or diocese. Associate Members are invited to attend general meetings and special observances of the Society. They participate, as they are able, in the charitable activities of the Society in their area. Please contact your local parish or call the Central Office at (216) 741-7837, ext.107.
Some people want to help by contributing funds, or goods or services. These Contributing Members choose to share items like food goods, clothing, furniture, and cars. They may volunteer to help out in one of our many programs (
What we Do). They may make monetary contributions to the Society or regularly contribute to the Society’s work. These generous persons are extremely important to the work of the Society.
